History

Family and Kids-Care Foundation Inc holds our inaugural annual 'Hugs Week' in August 2003. Some of the highlights from previous Hugs Weeks included:

  • A launch night when state politicians and local counsillors hugged almost 2,000 participants at Logan Entertainment Centre
  • Logan City Council ‘Group Hug' with approximately 300 participants.
  • Live interviews conducted on the radio by our President Rev. Tass Augustakis.
  • Eliminator Hot Rod Club sausage sizzle event.
  • Prizes donated such as a Stefan gift pack and trips to theme parks.
  • Distribution of merchandise such as bumper stickers, badges/buttons, flyers and t-shirts.

Hugs Week is urging people to spread a message of love and hope with a simple hug. The brainchild of Kingston's Family & Kids Care Foundation president the Rev Tass Augustakis, Hugs Week aims to promote love, awareness, acceptance and positive attitudes in the community. It also raises funds for the non-profit foundation. The message of Hugs Week is important to us all in view of all the negativity, hardships, war and uncertainties that we face from day to day.

Family & Kids Care Foundation helps families throughout Brisbane, Logan and surounding areas with counselling, education, work care, employment, housing and welfare services and provides children's programs and excursions.

Family and Kids-Care Foundation Inc and its supporters are: "Working together towards building a better Australia."
